A tool to face the new cycle

Will we emerge stronger from the crisis? Only if we have learned from it; otherwise, we will repeat our mistakes.

A few days ago, at a business conference, I heard the CEO of a company talking about the different phases of the recent crisis; more or less, his words were these:

The first phase was the 'denial' of the crisis (politicians, businesspeople and society in general), which meant on the one hand a delay in corrective measures and on the other hand an aggravation of the damage to companies.

Then came the phase of 'price adjustments,' of lower rates, a desperate response likely driven by panic. Many companies restructured hastily and entered a chain of value loss that affected the entire sector.

And now we are in the 'reorganization' phase of the market, some companies disappear, others are born and others are transformed (mergers, acquisitions, etc.), it is time to think about models, strategies, and the new market.

Many companies will enter the new cycle without reflection, without adapting to this new market that has emerged from the crisis, and will repeat mistakes or disappear, depending on the company or sector.

Writing a business plan forces us to take a 360-degree view of our company, analyze our customers and competitors, define our market position, and perhaps even rebuild our strategy. Because it's vital to think before we act.
