The aim of this article is to inform you about some of the different digitization lines that have been opened or are expected to be opened in a short time during 2022.
We will try to keep it updated, as there is some data for which we do not yet have enough information because the corresponding call for applications has not been published, but we consider it important to keep it in mind to have a general overview of which grants you can apply for this year.
At times like these, when everything seems to revolve around the "Digital Kit," it's worth noting that other options exist that can be complementary or alternative. Depending on each company's circumstances, there may be other options that better suit their project, whether due to the provider, the specific characteristics of the project, or because the terms of the call for proposals are a better fit
In any case, what is important is not to fall for "siren songs" and end up spending money on projects that may represent a small return for the company compared to what it intended.
The first step is to conduct a thorough self-assessment to truly understand the company's current situation. You can find two very useful tools at www.acelerapyme.es and http://ccam.gencat.cat/ca/serveis/autodiagnosi/
Once you've defined the first point, the ideal solution is to find a good consultant who can advise you on the most suitable tools for digitizing your business. A reputable external consultant won't try to sell you their own product, but rather the one you truly need.
There are grants that subsidize this consultant role.
Once the IT tools/solutions to be used have been defined, it's necessary to determine which ones best suit our needs and budget. The aforementioned consultant or a reputable and responsible digital company that offers comprehensive 360° digitalization services may be the most suitable partner to assist in this phase.
The aid and subsidies available for business transformation will help recover part of the investment made in these projects, and businesses should try to take advantage of all the available options, as they are often compatible with each other.

TICCámaras 2022
Subject : aid for the digital transformation of SMEs.
Beneficiaries: SMEs and self-employed individuals within the territorial jurisdiction of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, who are registered in the IAE Census.
Amount: Granting of aid to develop Implementation Plans for innovative solutions, which include two sequential and progressive phases: Advisory Phase – Diagnosis (free) and Implementation Phase (subsidized by 50% with a maximum of €3,500).
Application deadline: Until 1-04-2022 at 12:00 hours, or until the budget is exhausted.
Xpande Digital 2022
Subject : aid for the development of international digital marketing plans.
Beneficiaries: SMEs and self-employed individuals within the territorial jurisdiction of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, who are registered in the IAE Census.
Amount: The amount of financial aid will be 50% of the eligible amount with a maximum of €2,000 per company.
Application deadline: Until 1-04-2022 at 12:00 hours, or until the budget is exhausted.
Industry 4.0 Program 2022
Subject : aid for plans to support the incorporation of ICT in industrial companies.
Beneficiaries: SMEs and self-employed individuals in the industrial sector of the territorial demarcation of the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, who are registered in the IAE Census.
Amount: The amount of financial aid will be 50% of the eligible amount with a maximum of €10,000 per company.
Application deadline: Until 18-03-2022 at 12:00 hours, or until the budget is exhausted.
Digital Transformation Line CCAM (Generalitat de Catalunya)
Subject : aid for the digital transformation of the company through the use of solutions such as websites, e-commerce, social networks, marketing, SEO/SEM, digitization of the establishment's processes, digital signage, computerized management systems,….
Beneficiaries: Individuals/companies with street-level premises located in Catalonia and belonging to one of the following sectors:
1-Individual retail commercial establishments.
2-Municipal market stops.
3-Individual commercial establishments that provide any of the following services: Workshops and mechanical repair services, photographic and audiovisual services, copy shops and graphic arts, repair services, retail travel agencies, dry cleaners and laundries, hairdressers, beauty salons, prepared food service and catering, restaurants, bars and veterinary clinics with a physical store.
Amount: The amount of financial aid for the year 2021 was 50% of the eligible amount with a maximum of €5,000 per company, prioritizing 360º projects.
Application deadline: Pending publication of the call for applications.
Digital Transformation Line (Barcelona City Council)
Subject : aid for the digital transformation of the company through the use of solutions such as websites, e-commerce, social networks, marketing, SEO/SEM, digitization of the establishment's processes, digital signage, computerized management systems,….
Beneficiaries: Individuals/companies with premises on the first floor or at street level located in Barcelona City and belonging to one of the following sectors:
1-Individual retail commercial establishments.
2-Municipal market stops.
3-Individual commercial establishments that provide any of the following services: Workshops and mechanical repair services, photographic and audiovisual services, copy shops and graphic arts, repair services, retail travel agencies, dry cleaners and laundries, hairdressers, beauty salons, prepared food service and catering, restaurants, bars and veterinary clinics with a physical store.
Amount: The amount of financial aid for the year 2021 was 50% of the eligible amount with a maximum of €6,000 per company, although it finally ended up with a maximum of €2,980.28 per company.
Application deadline: Currently, only the Terms and Conditions have been published. The call for applications is expected to be released shortly.
Organization: ACC10 (Generalitat de Catalunya)
Calls for applications: NOT YET OPEN.
Note: These are lines that may undergo significant modifications this year, and therefore we will have to wait to see how the calls for proposals are worded.
International e-Trade Coupons
Purpose : grants to encourage the international promotion of companies through digital channels and can be exchanged for the following services:
Analysis of the company's current presence in digital channels.
Definition of the international digital strategy: definition of objectives, selection of target markets and audiences, identification of the value proposition and definition of the digital channels and phases of the sales cycle in which we will work.
Action plan for digital channels and analysis of approximate costs to carry them out.
Beneficiaries: Small and medium-sized enterprises with an operational establishment in Catalonia that must meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrate a minimum turnover of 100,000 euros in the last closing of the financial year.
- Have a website in English.
- Have an international promotion plan
Amount:. The maximum aid was 6,000 euros.
Application period: Not yet open. The information is from 2021.
Coupons for Industry 4.0
Purpose: The Industry 4.0 Vouchers aim to provide subsidies for contracting innovation services and implementing Industry 4.0 technologies to improve a company's products, services, or processes. They can be redeemed for one of the following services:
Beneficiaries: To be specified in the call for proposals, but the fact that it mentions Industry 4.0 does not mean that only industrial SMEs can apply. In 2021, it was open to all sectors if the project met the call's requirements.
Industry 4.0 Diagnostic Voucher: Defining a roadmap for the company's digital transformation. This diagnostic includes identifying opportunities for improvement to enable the incorporation of new technologies and facilitate the strategic, organizational, and cultural shift towards Industry 4.0 through the establishment of transformation plans.
Amount: The maximum aid: was 8,000 euros (in 2021).
Industry 4.0 Implementation Voucher: This voucher may undergo a significant transformation in 2022 compared to 2021. Webinars have discussed the possibility of awarding it based on a points system (unlike the other ACC10 lines, which were awarded on a first-come, first-served basis), increasing the funding per project (up to €20,000 was granted in 2021), and prioritizing projects in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, etc.
Amount: To be determined. Around €40,000 per project has been mentioned, but this is still pending…
Application period: Not yet open. The information is from 2021.
ICEX Next
Organization: MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, TRADE AND TOURISM
Objective: Program aimed at both companies that have a competitive project and wish to start their growth abroad, and those that find themselves in need of reviewing their international strategy, affected by changes in the conditions of their usual markets.
Beneficiaries: SMEs that have their own product or service that can be marketed internationally and have their own brand; not be a commercial or production subsidiary of a foreign company, and have a turnover of more than 200,000 euros (except if it is a newly created technology-based startup).
Amount: Up to €24,000 in co-financed expenses arising from the design and implementation of the international strategy. This is a two-year project that includes 50 hours of personalized consulting from expert international strategy consultants, as well as promotional activities (in digital environments), trade fair visits, and networking with suppliers in other countries, etc.
Application period: From February 10th until the end of 2022 in 4 stages of calls.
Digital Kit
Starting March 15, the first call for applications for the Digital Kit will be open so that companies with between 10 and 49 employees can request aid of up to €12,000 for this segment of companies.
With this "digital voucher", SMEs will be able to acquire digitization solutions for key areas such as website and internet presence, social media management, e-commerce; customer management; virtual office services and tools, business intelligence and analytics, process management, electronic invoicing, secure communications and cybersecurity.
From that day onwards, interested companies will be able to apply for these grants at the Red.es electronic headquarters (https://sede.red.gob.es) and the deadline will be open for 6 months or until the funds run out.
A few days earlier, on March 10, the catalog with the first digitizing agents adhering to the program, "they are the only ones to subscribe to the 'solutions provision agreements digitalization'", will be available on the website www.acelerapyme.es.
To apply for the digital voucher, you must register in the private area of www.acelerapyme.es and complete the self-diagnostic test (you can consult the step-by-step guide at this link ).
The next step is to review the information on available digitization solutions and choose one or more. The final step is to request assistance at https://sede.red.gob.es. Once granted, you must access the catalog of digitization providers, select the one you wish to work with, and sign the service agreement.
